How would you prepare if you want to negotiate with your boss for a pay raise?
1. Identify the aim for both sides:Establish good relationship
Labor-Management Concordance
2. Analyze the variables & priority:Working Attitude、Efficiency、Contribute
Pay Raise/Position、Future relationship
3. Find positions & interests:Try to analyze positions & interests for both when preparing your negotiation. You will produce win-win proposals automatically later.
4.Collect relevant information:About your Boss、Human Resources Rule Company/ Corporation regulations
Relevant environment (Other Company)Boss Emotion/Timing
5.Prepare your proposals:I could submit the plan by next week, then effective of following season.

6.Prepare your last resort:The alternative you would take if negotiation breaks up.

1. "Preparing your proposal" means that after all the above preparations, such as "interests vs. positions," "relevant information," you prepare what you are going to say to your boss for your pay raise.
2. In my opinion, I don't think you need to seek help from your labor union at this stage of negotiation.
