由於擔心中國自五月一日起禁止出口砂石，台灣省進口砂石協會竟然向中國陳情建議中國依中華人民共和國憲法視台灣為中國不可分之領土，不要對台灣禁運砂石。業者甚至希望國民黨主席馬英九及目前人在中國的國民黨榮譽主席連戰能協助他們向中國說項。
持此一依中華人民共和國憲法論調的還不止該協會，台灣營造工程工業同業公會全國聯合會理事長陳煌銘也表示，中華人民共和國憲法載明，台灣為中國不可分之領土，這次禁令是針對不能出口到「外國」，因此中國砂石是否禁止出口到台灣，仍有待商榷。他希望人在中國的連戰能為台灣營造工程爭取一些空間。

If I were Chairman Lien, I would wait until 01May to see how China is going to deal with Taiwan over this issue. According to the constitutions of People's Republic of China, Taiwan is still part of China. Therefore, I think China will continue exporting the Rock to Taiwan because China will want to prove to the world that Taiwan belongs to China.

1. Since there was little time in class to respond to your question about "my opinion on Sudan's peace prospect," here are some points as to the topic above:
a. The background of the Sudan long-standing civil war is:
"The conflict has pitted the Muslim north against Christians and animists 萬物有靈論者 in the south, leaving some 1.5m people dead for the past 21 years."
b. This conflict is undoubtedly one of the severest catastrophy in recent human history. Seeing this tragedy, we, people in Taiwan, should feel very lucky not to have such conflict of this kind, though we do have some political struggle, between "green" and "blue," here.
c. When prying into the nature of the conflict, religion is still the bottom and hidden fuse for the long-running conflict. In war history, when you had a war of religious nature, it usually lasted for a long long time, just like a wild fire which can be re-lit up even though you put it out at a time.
d. So, my personal view is that "the peace won't be long." However, the peace accord may at very least serve as a break for both sides to prepapre for another bout of conflict.
e. The US will keep interfering with the situations there, if the Republicans still hold the political rein, because they see the conflict as a kind of persecution of the Muslim (in the north) on the Christian (in the south of Sudan). And they are destined and obliged to relieve the Christian there.
